The whole point of a spa is to use it. The last thing you want is to feel guilty every time you flip the lid because the running costs are eating into your electricity bill. That’s why we engineer every Just Spas spa with insulation, filtration and cover design that work together to keep daily costs comfortably in check.
The single biggest factor in your spa’s ongoing running cost is heat loss. Heat costs money to generate, and any heat that escapes is heat you’re paying for again. The fix is a properly insulated cabinet.
Every Just Spas spa includes a well-insulated cabinet that traps the warmth in. Combined with the heat that pumps naturally generate while filtering, your spa effectively recycles its own warmth — staying ready to use without working the heater hard.
Older-style filtration drags water through filters under strong suction, which means the pump is constantly fighting drag. The pump works harder, draws more power, and wears out faster.
Our suction-less filtration approach reduces that drag — so pumps run quieter, last longer, and use less energy day to day. Quality engineering pays for itself over the life of the spa.
Insulation under the spa is only half the picture — the cover handles the rest. A spa cover that fits properly, seals tight against the rim, and hasn’t become waterlogged makes an enormous difference to running costs.
Every Just Spas spa comes with a fitted cover engineered for the model, and we offer replacements when older covers start to show their age. A new cover is one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make.
Always close the cover after use. An open or poorly sealed cover is the #1 way heat escapes.
37–38°C is a comfortable use temperature. Holding any higher costs more without much extra benefit.
Clogged filters force the pump to work harder. Rinse fortnightly and deep-clean every month or two.
If your tariff has off-peak rates, set heating cycles accordingly. Your sparky can advise on programming.
A common myth is that spas only suit warm weather. The opposite is true — most Just Spas owners say winter is when they enjoy their spa most.
